The 3 Be’s of Winners

Sahil appeared to be extremely happy after the gym today. All were wondering about this sudden change in his attitude. All were used to his sad and ‘not-so-happy’ face since couple of months due to his issues at work. His attitude indicated a new him! A persona that was never evident before. A confident smile, A determined vision and many more! He was having dinner with friends that night .His best friend asked ‘what’s wrong with you is everything okay?’ Sahil smiled and said “I resigned from my job today”! The table was shocked, as his attitude and the event behind it was not in sync. Sahil started laughing out loudly and said, “today I am feeling happy and fulfilled like never before, today I can say I am aware and this is awesome!”

No wonder all were curious to know what made him into this new person in spite of him loosing the job. Sahil continued, “I was working where I was not real me. This job drained lot of energy and time in working on something that was not growing me as a person and ignite passion in me. It took a lot of time for me to get this clarity and love myself enough to follow my passion! I have decided to follow my core passion of gym and convert it into a business! After all considerations, I am starting my own gym!” In spite of several years of suffocation of survival v/s passion finally Sahil chose passion. Few friends started thinking, even I like to do something different, but how come I am unable to take decisions. What made him take this bold step in spite of family and financial responsibilities!

I am sure all of us go through dilemma of choice between survival and passion. Some may take action quickly and follow passion with proper planning and some gets survival pressure and they continue to be unhappy at the cost of passion. There are some people who appear ‘sorted out’ and some people who appear ‘confused’. Why this happens? What makes ‘sorted out’ people have a fulfilled life? There is only one answer! Lack of clarity!

Many of my clients I coach express the same confusion. “I don’t really know what I want” Years of thinking and providing for the needs of others — partners, children, family, colleagues, clients — means that they very rarely, if ever, have they taken the time to focus and define their own wants and desires.

Here are the 3 Be’s of winners that will help you succeed:  Be You , Be Clear , Be Passionate

Step 1: Be You

When you are self-aware, it is easier for you to understand your needs and other people needs too! Many people assume that they have a healthy sense of self-awareness, but it is best to look at a relative scale to see where you fall on it compared to earlier you. Being aware creates an opportunity to make changes in one’s behavior and beliefs. Becoming self-aware is an early step in the creation of the life that you want. It helps you pinpoint what your passions and emotions are, and how your personality can help you in life.

Be yourself and trust your beliefs. Just being ‘you’ it becomes easy to proceed to the next step

Step 2: Be Clear

We are aware of power of clarity now! Once we get this clarity of important aspects of life, it’s very easy to seek clear answers to cross this step . Ask yourself

  • What results I want?
  • Why do I want it?
  • How to achieve it? What has worked with me before?
  • Which areas of my life needs importance?
  • Is my time wasted or invested?
  • Am I procrastinating?

Step 3: Be Passionate

Once you are aware and clear about the results and how to achieve those results, it’s time to get ourselves determined to achieve and act on it. In my previous article”Why we don’t take actions” states how to stop over thinking and take actions. No matter how hard it gets, be determined to achieve those results. Develop passion for your passion. Passion will help you cross all barriers and be determined during the journey.

Remember! It’s not the ‘To Do list’ that creates a fulfilled life, it’s the ‘Awareness ,Clarity and Passion’!
